"Draw Near to Me" - Fine Art Print

from $55.00

Aaron’s Staff budded Almonds, Blossoms, and Leaves in Numbers 17 because it was a sign that he was the man God chose. Just one chapter earlier, the people incited a rebellion and through a different sign, where the ground opened up, the Lord showed the people who belonged to him, who was holy, and who was allowed to enter His presence.

This painting represents that He has chosen YOU to be His and that under the new covenant, all of us can draw close to Him and enter His presence. We are the sanctified ones who, through Christ, are in the process of being made holy. And lastly, that we belong to Him. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

This Painting also comes from Jeremiah 1:11-12, “Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, "‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an Almond tree.’ Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’” When we read these verses in English, we miss the play-on-words that is happening in Hebrew. Almond in Hebrew is “shaged” but it comes from the root word “shaqad”, which sounds very similar. Shaqad means to watch or to be awake. So why would Almond come from the word that means to watch or to wake? Because the Almond tree is one of the very first tree’s to blossom or “wake up” after winter in that part of the world.

So the dual meaning that I felt the Lord leading me in this painting is that just as He told Jeremiah, He is ready to perform His word- He has been watching over the Word that has been given to YOU and is ready to perform it. Maybe the word you got at the sound hasn’t come to pass yet, or maybe it was a word you got ten years ago that hasn’t come to pass yet. Maybe fulfilling it looks exactly how you expected it would, or maybe it looks different than you thought. The bottom line is He didn’t forget about you or what He told you, He’s gonna do it. He’s ready to do it.
